The Hypocrisy of the left and the English media in India…!!!

The death of Gauri Lankesh got massive attention in the English media which had by and large pronounced it’s verdict declaring the RSS and extreme right wing as her killers even before the authorities reached there and the investigations began. The English media who is always asking the same right wing to be tolerant and for following the due process and not jumping to the conclusion as in cases like JNU,  gave their verdict  instantly and started building their favorite narrative that because of the BJP government at power our freedom of speech and  expression is in serious threat and that journalists have fear for life for writing against government , the Hindutva ideology was named and shamed and everything was pointed out and made to be looked like a BJP committed crime by the so called media who is supposed to be unbiased and natural. The narrative build so strongly and unanimously form them that the youth who largely is English speaking in the urban India started believing that to be true, that  indeed the BJP is seriously a threat to the freedom of speech and expression. So are they really?? and taking a closer view into the case will pose a serious questions to the journalists ethics and to the main question that what is the ideology of the Left.

The left for starters in India particularly and largely do not have an ideology in the first place. They feel that they are being oppressed all the time and the only thing that they have to do is have a narrative against the establishment however sensible it might be. The extreme left in India do not believe in the idea (Union of India) and are largely the creators of the moists and the naxals posing greatest threat to the integrity and sovereignty to the Union of India as the word used in our constitution to describe our country that they proudly quote whenever they are faced with hard questions. These people largely use the constitution not to protect it or strengthen it but to abuse it. If for them freedom of expression means.(quoting some of the phrases used by the so called liberals)

“ Bharat tere tukade Honge Insha Allaha Insha Allaha “

“ Afsal hum sharminda hai tere katil zinda hai”

“ Have a mob gathering for Yakub Memon “

“Abusing the Prime Minster for his sexual orientation”

“ Calling RSS workers wives and mothers as Sex workers “

then I am sorry that the same constitution asks you to have reasonable restrictions on the freedom of speech and expression if it can be hurtful to other individual and becomes a threat to the UNION OF INDIA, the fact that they conveniently forget.  The left has failed entirely not because they are being suppressed but they do not have an idea of their own to go anywhere and prosper. If not supporting these views makes me non secular or intolerant then I feel the same constitution gives me the right to feel that.

And the English media in India does something else than what traditionally we know as journalism. Because the English media has fostered and helped build this communal narratives in INDIA by giving each side( Right and Left) their fair share. The media instead of taking the real issues on ground like Education , Infrastructure and Healthcare have indulged only in building the communal narratives to get them their TRP. Not one media house does serious ground reporting on the rural issues and for the past 70 years they have let the Congress limp this country to progress thinking that Congress government and a family would rule India after the raj for Eternity are now suddenly scared of the fact that it is being thrown out of power and is facing serious existential issues. If only they had not been the mouth pieces of the government for so long and did real journalism we would be better off. There Hypocrisy is evident when the media who has programmed our minds to believe that terror has no religion across the globe start coining and spreading the term as HINDU terror (LOL). I haven’t seen a Prime minister who has engaged  so widely with all the country and is so open to interactions and yet being shamed by the this media at every  little opportunity. How can the people who talk against beef ban and try and show the government as narrow minded on one side run a campaign asking for the ban of a dog meat festival in China. Do they then have any face left to talk about beef ban??  This list of the media hypocrisy can go on….!!!

These words are not in any manner spoken to support the killing of Gauri Lankesh as  people who take the law in their hands and if the Right is indeed involved they should be shamed and booked . The hard right also does not support the BJP by celebrating the killing and posting abusive trolls on social media and are only strengthening these voices acting against BJP government. The only point is that media and the left both should introspect their agendas and ideologies and should be more inclusive in their idea of the UNION of INDIA  and coverage and reporting style…….!!
